FIRST IMPRESSION OUT OF THE BOX
DeucesJack: What’s up, everyone? DeucesJack at vapinginsider.com. Today, I got a new dual 18650 mod for you. Nice, small curvy form factor, 235W, centered 510, check it out. 31 ml atomizers with no overhang. Got my Will Robinson look going on there. Danger, warning danger right. That’s what it looks like to me. Anyway, we’re talking about the Hcigar Wildwolf.
Let’s cut downlow. Let’s show it to you up close and personal. We’ll go over everything, the menu system, the whole nine yards. Then we’re going to come back on top. We’ll vape on it, talk about it. See you downlow.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
- 1 HCigar Wildwolf 235W Box Mod
- 1 USB Cable
- 1 Gift Box
- 1 Decorative Ring
- 1 Manual
Alright, everyone! Welcome to the downlow portion of this video. Today, we’re going over the Hcigar Towis Wildwolf. 235W mod. Mine comes in silver and black. Let’s take a quick tour around the box. Little Hcigar branding over there. On the back, if you want, you can pause this and read the back of the box. There is your authenticity check.
Let’s open this up and see what we got. First thing you notice, we have some paperwork, comes in a nice little envelope. Let’s see what we have here. We have a warranty card and a Wildwolf user manual. Couple of specs there if you want to pause it and read it.
Included in your packaging is this really nice beauty ring. It’s gorgeous, it’s thick. They did a nice job with it. There’s only one problem with it, here’s a Pulse 24, doesn’t fit, it wont go in. Some 24 mm atomizers fit, here’s the Druga, that fits but really tight. Some fit, some don’t. So while it’s a beautiful beauty ring, that’s going to be a con that not all 24 mm atomizers fit in it.
You also have a box within a box. Inside the box within a box, is a rather thick white micro USB cable for charging and updates. We’ll file that to the side.
FROM TOP TO BOTTOM
Here is the mod. On the mod, you have an oval-shaped fire button with a nice clicky feel to it. You have a menu button, a minus button and a plus button. Here is your micro USB port for charging and updates. We recommend on dual battery mods that you charge externally. On the top side, we have a centered 510 connection with a black plate. I like that, that’s different. Two star screws holding it in place. We have a stainless steel spring-loaded 510 that I would call stiff with a short throw. Stainless steel threading around there. Love the curvature of the mod. Feels great in the hand.
On the back, we have some Hcigar branding. You can see, I nicked this one up a little bit. See how I nicked it up a little bit? You guys know I’m rough on my mod so that’s more my fault than Hcigar’s fault.
Nice big color screen. On the back of the mod we do have a battery door held in place by two star screws on the bottom part here. Push down and out and open the battery door. On the battery door, it says clearly 18650, plus, minus. That should be in a different color. That should be in white, that should be standard now. A and B, separately marked batteries. We have button style contacts over here. If you look down at the bottom of the battery tube, you’ll see two spring-loaded battery contacts as well as clear battery indicator markings in blue and red. You’ll see a plus and minus sign.
Let’s load some batteries in this thing. Plus side over here, minus side over here. Push and in. Screen turns on automatically. On the screen you’ll notice, this is your mode, separate battery meters marked A and B, wattage, resistance, voltage, amps and your preheat mode.
Menu system is pretty simple. Hit the menu button, twice. Once you see the watts light up in yellow, you can now scroll through your different features. You have temperature control and voltage mode. In temperature control, you scroll down and now you can adjust your temperature. If you hit the menu button again, in one degree increments. Hit the menu button again, scroll over the Fahrenheit and you can adjust between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Hit the menu button to confirm, scroll over to your wattage. Hit the menu button again and you can adjust up or down in 1W increments. Hit the menu button again, scroll over, hit the menu button again and now you can scroll through your different materials. You have NI, TI, NI curve, TI curve, SS curve and back to NI. So pretty cool, you have all different curves for each different material. That’s kind of neat. We’re going to put it back to wattage mode and there you go.
Now in wattage mode, if you want to adjust your preheat, you hit the menu button, and you scroll down to your preheat. Hit the menu button again and now you can go between powerful, wattage curve, soft, normal, or powerful again. I normally keep it in normal. In order to adjust the wattage, you just hit the up and down button. You can see it scrolls in one watt increments up to 235W. It does not round robin. Unfortunately, the mod scrolls in 0.1W increment until you hit 100W then it starts scrolling in 1W increments. If you want to lock the mod, you hit the plus and minus button. Now the mod is locked. You cannot adjust the wattage but it will still fire. In order to unlock the mod, hold the up and down button again and now you can adjust the wattage up or down.
And that’s it folk. That’s basically the whole menu system. Before we cut back on top, I just want to give you a little bit of a size comparison here. This is the Wildwolf next to Eleaf Invoke. This has been the smallest dual 18650 mod that I know of. The performance is nowhere near the Wildwolf and you can see the Wildwolf is still significantly bigger but very very much in the same type of form factor, that curvy type of look to it. But this one’s a little wider. You know what? I’ll take that extra width just because I can fit a 31 ml tank on top and I’ll also take the Hcigar performance over the Eleaf mod. But I just want to give you idea on how small the Wildwolf actually is. It’s really small for a dual 18650. It’s not as small as the Invoke but then again, it performs ten times better than the Invoke.
So let’s take it back on top, let’s talk about it, cons, pros and we’re out of here. See you back on top.
All right everyone, we’re back on top with the Hcigar Wildwolf. I don’t know what else I could say about this mod. I love this mod. It’s got a great feel to it, a great finish, feels awesome in the hand. I have just been digging it. I’ve been using this for quite some time now and I love it. I can’t say enough about it. I’m gushing over it . It’s got a real simple menu system, awesome form factor and finish. It’s built really well. I love doing reviews on great mods like this. They just make my life so much easier because I don’t have to point out anything and back it up. So great job on this mod Hcigar.
Let’s get into the cons and the pros.
First con is going to be, man it’s an annoying con. I hope Hcigar fixes it on an update. It’s got a one hour shut off. You put the mod down, you pick it up an hour later, you go to vape and the mod is off. It’s the most annoying thing in the world. Hcigar, what the hell are you thinking? Do an update and get rid of that because it ruins the experience on this mod.
The other con is going to be the TC works but it’s a little bit on the weak side. If you crank up the wattage to compensate for and about 10W higher than normal you’ll get a consistent TC vape. So I’m going to give them a con on that, that the TC is not exactly on point.
The other con I’m going to give it is for that beauty ring that I showed you up close, not all 24 mm atomizers fit in it so that’s going to be a con. But it’s a gorgeous beauty ring, it really is.
Let’s get into the pros because there’s a ton of them.
First pro is going to be the looks. It’s a great looking mod man. I’m diggin the that two-tone black and silver, really nice job on that.
Size, look at the size man, you saw it down low. It’s only a little bigger than the Invoke and it’s comfortable to hold. I love it.
Form factor, pro.
Centered 510, pro.
31 mm without any overhang, we’re going to give them a pro for that.
Comfortable to hold, pro.
We’re going to give them a pro on the finish. That finish has an almost rubbery feel to it, that’s a pro.
Solid battery door, pro. Big beautiful 1.3-inch color display laid out beautifully, I’m going to give them a pro on that screen.
Comes in a bunch of great colors, silver, silver and black, red and black, blue and black and full black. They all look really nice.
Price point, under 60 bucks, man. That’s a big win for this mod and all that it does. We’re going to give them a pro for that.
Included beauty ring. I’m going to give them a pro on that even though all 24 ml don’t fit in it. It’s a beautiful piece, very well machined. They’re going to get a pro for that because the ones that do fit in it will look great.
This one is definitely DeucesJack approved. This is one of my favorite dual 18650 mods right now. This one is going to be in the rotation for quite some time.
